On Sunday October 28^th 2012 the Bangor YMCA and MARTiAL YOU collaborated in an effort to put on a Pre-Halloween celebration for the local community. The event was designed to give back to the community and help raise awareness of both MARTiAL YOU and the programs offered through the YMCA.

Fundrasing for this event proved challenging but fruitful. The decision to have the event was made only 3 1/2 weeks prior to the event date so we had very little time to raise the money to actually pay for the supplies needed to pull it off. Several local area businesses were approached in person and many larger chain corporations contacted by letter email or by phone. 

Locally run and owned businesses came through for us and donations came in slowly but surely. Larger corporations could not help due to the limited time frame to process the donation requests. As of the actual event the budget was in the negative by several hundreds of dollars but a couple of last minute contributions came in just after the 28th and allowed us to pull ahead.
